At Strategic Design Integration and Management research group (SDIM), we conduct research into industrial and societal developments that evolve the design profession. We strive to devise actionable strategies for management and strategic planning of design in companies and in the public sector.
Our research interests revolve around organisational adoption of design, leadership of designers, and implementation of design-driven development practices. We have a special interest in the expressiveness of design work, creation of expertise in design, and how design competencies are commercialised in practice. We work on real-life cases and employ both qualitative and quantitative methods.
We are actively seeking academic and industry partners in Finland and abroad to collaborate with, so please drop us a line if you have an interesting idea.
